Another victim of Sri Lanka shooting succumbed to injuries, former MP’s funeral Wednesday

Oct 10, Colombo: Another victim of the weekend shooting between two groups of supporters from the ruling party succumbed to his injuries this morning raising the death toll to 4, the police said.

The victim, a resident of Ragama has been receiving treatment at the Colombo National Hospital, the national news agency Lankapuwath reported.

The Saturday’s shooting during the local government elections left a former ruling party Parliamentarian and Presidential Advisor Baratha Lakshman Premachandra and two of his aides dead and ruling party MP Duminda Silva with serious head injuries on life support.

Meanwhile, the funeral of the slain former MP will take place on Wednesday (12).
