CMC to get Japanese expertise to develop Sri Lanka’s capital city

June 10, Colombo: The Colombo Municipal Council (CMC) says the development of the Sri Lankan capital city is to be carried out with Japanese expertise.

CMC Special Administrator Omar Kamil has told the media that a sister city programme between Japan’s city of Sakai and Colombo is to be initiated.

Kamil has said that the CMC was to get the expertise of the Japanese city of Sakai from the Osaka prefecture to develop Colombo.

A five-member delegation representing the Sakai council had met with officials of the CMC led by Kamil.

A delegation of CMC officials are also reportedly expected to visit the Japanese city of Sakai in August this year to finalize the programme.
