Commonwealth Games Federation head calls on Sri Lankan President

Mar 23, Colombo: Mike Hooper, CEO of the Commonwealth Games Federation called on Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa at Temple Trees today.

Hooper is in Sri Lanka to meet with Sri Lanka’s Commonwealth Games Committee for discussions on Sri Lanka’s bid to host the 2018 Commonwealth Games.

Sri Lanka competing with Gold Coast, Australia to host the Commonwealth Games recently unveiled a large-scale model of the Hambantota 2018 ‘Sports City’ in the presence of Hooper.

Minister of Sports Mahindananda Aluthgamage, MP Namal Rajapaksa, Governor of Central Bank Ajith Nivard Cabraal, the Co-Chairman of the Organizing committee, Secretary to Ministry of Sports Udaya Ranjith Senevirathna, Chairman Commonwealth Games Federation of Sri Lanka, Hemasiri Fernando were also present.
