Cooperatives and Internal Trade Ministry of Sri Lanka says egg prices decline due to influx in market

June 11, Colombo: The government of Sri Lanka says that the price of eggs has declined following an increase in supplies to the markets.

Cooperatives and Internal Trade Ministry has announced that the price of eggs has declined to between Rs. 7-8 from Rs.12 a few months back.

The Ministry states that producers are facing losses due to the sudden decline in egg prices in the market.

According to the Ministry, the high egg prices a few months back had prompted several new traders to supply eggs to the market resulting in an influx of eggs.
