June 01, Colombo: The last date for receipt of applications for Ceylon Estate Workers Education Trust (CEWET) scholarships offered by India has been extended to June 30, 2011, High Commission of India announced today in a statement.
The extension in deadline has been granted in view of requests received from a large number of candidates from remote areas to allow more time for submission of applications.
These scholarships are available for children of estate workers to pursue G.C.E. Advance Level, Undergraduate courses and vocational technical education. Students who have passed G.C.E Ordinary or Advance Level examination with either Mathematics or Arithmetic at the G.C.E. ‘O’ Level examination and are below 25 years of age are eligible to apply.
Application forms are available at the High Commission of India, 36-38, Galle Road, Colombo-03 and the Assistant High Commission of India, No.31, Rajaphilla Mawatha, Kandy. Duly completed forms should reach the Honorary Secretary, CEWET c/o High Commission of India, P.O. Box 882, Colombo-03, before June 30, 2011.
