Former President of Kalmykia Republic calls on Sri Lankan President

May 18, Colombo: Former President of the Republic of Kalmykia of the Russian Federation, Kirsan Nikolayevich Ilyumzhinov who is visiting Sri Lanka with a Buddhist delegation called on Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa today (18) at the Temple Trees.


President Rajapaksa is pictured here presenting a Buddha statue to Mr. Ilyumzhinov whose country is the only state in Europe practicing Buddhism as the dominant religion.
