July 04, Colombo: The India-Sri Lanka Foundation, a trust fund setup by the Governments of India and Sri Lanka that finances projects aimed at furthering all aspects of India-Sri Lanka cooperation, has invited project proposals on various disciplines.
A press release issued by the Indian High Commission in Colombo calls for project proposals, which will assist to enhance bilateral relations between India and Sri Lanka, in the thrust areas of Education, including short-term teaching/technical training assignments for faculty members, Art Culture, Archaeological Studies, Agricultural Research, Science Technology, Information Technology, Health, including short-term teaching/technical training assignments, Development Studies and Gender Studies.
Under the above thrust areas, proposals could be submitted for higher studies, research and other educational activities at recognised institutions of learning located in India and in Sri Lanka, visits and exchanges involving students, scholars, academics, artists, professionals and performing artistes, to participate in conference/seminar, symposia, art exhibition, film festival, cultural events and training workshops etc, publication of research works on India-Sri Lanka relations in the specified fields and translating literary works in Indian languages to Sri Lankan languages and publishing them, and vice-versa.
Individuals, institutions, and groups are welcome to submit proposals aimed at developing India-Sri Lanka Relations.
The Foundation is now receiving applications for consideration at the next meeting of the Board of Director of ISLF to be held in end-August 2011.
The release says due to the large number of proposals being received seeking financial assistance from the ISLF, the projects proposals preferably should be in the range of 250,000 to 750,000 rupees.
