Apr 10, Colombo: All institutions affiliated to Sri Lanka’s Health Ministry are to receive free telephone service from Sri Lanka Telecom from next month.
Health institutions have received this benefit from the first of May following an agreement signed between Health Minister Maithripala Sirisena and the SLT officials. The agreement also provides a 50% reduction of charges on all other phone calls made.
Sirisena has said that the agreement with SLT was reached in order to minimize the Ministry’s annual expenses on telephone bills amounting to Rs. 78 million.
The agreement has been signed for a period of five years.
