Japanese philanthropists gift a luxury bus to Sri Lankan school

Aug 16, Colombo: A group of Japanese philanthropists along with the Chairperson of the Hiyon Sri Lanka Kiyoiku Kiyokai Foundation Ven. Itho Kiyo thera gifted a luxury bus for the use of Mahinda Rajapaksa Vidyalaya, Homagama today (16) at Temple Trees.


The key to the bus was symbolically handed over to President Mahinda Rajapaksa at the occasion.

Minister of Education Bandula Gunawardena, the Japanese delegation, Principal of the School S.M.N de Silva and some students were present at the occasion.

The group has also handed over to Minister Bandula Gunawardena a stock of computers to be distributed among schools in remote areas. In addition they have sponsored scholarships for 300 school children and 75 university students of needy families.
