Ranil Wickremasinghe and imprisoned former Army Commander Sarath Fonseka had come to a consensus

Dec 24, Colombo: Sri Lanka’s Opposition leader Ranil Wickremasinghe and imprisoned former Army Commander Sarath Fonseka had come to a consensus regarding opposition United National Party’s (UNP’s) campaigns to secure his release and on his future political plans.

Sources said that Fonseka had given his consent to the proposals made by the UNP leader.

The Opposition Leader has met Fonseka in Welikada prison on Friday and discussed the prevailing political situation at length.

Opposition parliamentarians Ravi Karunanayaka and Dr. Jayalath Jayawardena also have participated in the discussions with the Democratic National Alliance leader and former Army Commander.
