Mar 23, Colombo: Sri Lanka President Mahinda Rajapaksa today has declared open the “Lakdiya Medura”, the new building complex of the Ministry of Water Supply and Drainage.
The Ministry was earlier housed in a rented building. The new complex is located at Pelawatte in Battaramulla, a suburb of capital Colombo.
The President unveiled the plaque of the new building at an auspicious time amidst religious observances.
The Ministry of Water Supply and Drainage Board will now be able to provide an efficient service by housing all institutions coming under its purview under one roof in the new complex built at a cost of 300 million rupees.
Speaker Chamal Rajapaksa, Minister of Water Dinesh Gunawardena, Deputy Minister Nirupama Rajapaksa, many parliamentarians and distinguished guests were present at the occasion.
