Profood/Propack International Exhibition 2011 with the participation
of over 300 exhibiting companies from 15 countries, exhibiting more than
10,000 new products and services was concluded yesterday. The event
showcased many overseas companies, especially from the SAARC region.
This show created opportunities for individuals and companies to
introduce new products, technology and services. The show is a public
private partnership, with the Industry and Commerce Ministry and the
Agriculture Ministry supporting the event for the tenth year in
The event showcased the latest products in the local processed food
industry, sampling of consumer favourites, innovation and technology
development in packaging, newest agricultural machinery and services,
processed food hygiene education and many more.
This event helped all stakeholders of the processed food, packaging
and agriculture industry to exchange their technical know how, and
enrich business relationships. This is an event that undoubtedly
stimulated the country’s economic growth whereby the event provided the
platform to harness the investment benefits declared at the recent
government budget for developing the SME sector in Sri Lanka.
