Dhaka, Apr 12 (bdnews24.com) – President of Sri Lanka Mahinda Rajapaksa will pay a state visit to Bangladesh from Apr 18 to 20.
He is coming to Bangladesh on the invitation of prime minister Sheikh Hasina, said a foreign ministry press release on Tuesday.
The first lady of Sri Lanka will accompany the president during the visit.
Several bilateral instruments in the areas of export promotion, business, shipping service, agriculture, fisheries and livestock, education and culture etc are expected to be signed during the visit.
The visit is expected to infuse new life into the bilateral ties and chart new directions for the future of relations between the two neighbours.
President Rajapaksa is scheduled to call on president Zillur Rahman and hold talks with the prime minister.
Foreign minister Dipu Moni will also call on the visiting president.
