Salaries of Sri Lankans employed in Korea increased

Jan 10, Colombo: Sri Lanka Minister of Foreign Employment Promotion Dilan Perera says that the government of South Korea has agreed to increase the salary of the Sri Lankan migrant employees there.

Accordingly, the basic salary of Sri Lankan employees will be increased by 6.1 percent.

The increased salary will be paid to the employees who migrate to Korea from this year.

Minister Perera has said that 9,998 persons had passed the Korean language proficiency test and expecting jobs in Korea. Further 1,000 persons who did not pass the examination but gained high marks could get employment in the fisheries sector there, the Minister has said.
