Special parliamentary committee appointed to discuss budgetary allocations for 21 ministries in Sri Lanka

Nov 11, Colombo: Sri Lankan government minister and Leader of the House Nimal Siripala de Silva has been appointed to head the special parliamentary committee to discuss the budgetary allocations made to 21 ministries for 2012.

The committee includes 12 members from the government and 9 members from the opposition.

The party leaders decided to appoint a special parliamentary committee to discuss and decide on the allocations made for 21 ministries in the 2012 budget due to time constraints in debating all ministries in the House.

The committee is to prepare a report on the 21 ministries and is to present it to the House for approval during the committee stage of the budget debate.
