Nov 14, Dubai: Sri Lanka beat Pakistan by 25 runs to win the second One Day International of the five-match ODI series today at Dubai in the United Arab Emirates to level the series 1-1.
Sri Lanka won the toss and decided to bat in the day-night match. Sri Lanka’s opener Upul Tharanga drove Sri Lanka to their highest total in the match with his 77 off of 120 balls and Mahela Jayewardena added a half a century to Sri Lanka’s modest score of 235 for 7.
Lasith Malinga and Thisara Perera cheaply dismissed the three top order batsmen of Pakistan for a total of 7 but Umar Akmal revived the team with his 91 before being removed by Dilhara Fernando. Sahidi Afridi added 29 before being run out by Sri Lankan skipper Tillekaratne Dilshan. Pakistan was all out for 210 in 46.3 overs.
The two teams will face off again on November 18 in Dubai for the third ODI.
