Nov 02, Colombo: Sri Lanka will host ‘Lanka Pack 2012’ an international packaging exhibition showcasing the packaging developments in the country at the BMICH in Colombo from May 25 to 27.
The exhibition is organized by the Sri Lanka Institute of Packaging, the apex body which represents the island’s packaging industry with over 160 members including producers and manufacturers of packing material, users, suppliers of related products.
The event, being held after a lapse of few years, is expected to showcase new packaging material, new machinery and equipment, and technology from other parts of the world.
When the last time Lanka Pack was held in 2007, around 7,500 visitors attended the event. This time the organizers expect over 10,000 visitors to the expo. Sri Lanka spends USD 6 per year per capita on packaging.
Nearly 30 participants are expected to participate in the event from neighboring India alone and the organizers are planning an India pavilion.
