Sri Lanka major opposition internal disputes displayed at the protest today

June 09, Colombo: Sri Lanka major opposition United National Party (UNP) internal sources say that the protest held today by the party displayed internal conflicts.

A leading UNP activist said that the supporters of the UNP Deputy Leader Sajith Premadasa were absent in the protest.

Meanwhile, police said that the protest held before Maradana Railway Station caused heavy traffic on the road to Borella from Colombo Pettah.

A group of protestors led by UNP and Opposition Leader Ranil Wickremasinghe sat on the Maradana Road blocking the road, reports said.

The protesters urged the government to admit the responsibility of the death of the Free Trade Zone employee Roshen Chanaka.
