Sri Lanka Marxist dissidents to launch a new movement for people’s struggle

Dec 09, Colombo: The dissidents of Sri Lanka Marxist party Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) say a new organization will be formed with the purpose of integrating the people’s struggle within a common platform.

The inauguration ceremony of the Movement for People’s Struggle will be held on the 13th December 2011 at 3:00 p.m. at the Hyde Park Ground in Colombo.

The Convener of the Movement for People’s Struggle Chameera Koswatta says the Movement is not a political party.

“It is a movement to integrate people going beyond the limits of a political party. Also, this is not a movement to contest for the elections. This has been formed to act and appear for the rights of all the people.”

The theme of the Movement is “Just Society, A Different Human Being”.
