Sri Lanka Opposition Leader says CID inquiring into statements made by opposition MPs

June 24, Colombo: Sri Lanka’s Opposition Leader Ranil Wickremasinghe has informed the parliament today that the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) is inquiring into statements made by opposition parliamentarians in the House.

Wickremasinghe has told parliament that the CID is inquiring into statements made by several opposition parliamentarians including UNP parliamentarian Ravi Karunanayaka.

The Opposition Leader has requested Speaker Chamal Rajapaksa to inquire into the matter.

The Speaker had said that he would look into it.
