Sri Lanka Opposition Leader takes over the electoral organizer post of Central Colombo

Sept 01, Colombo: The leader of Sri Lanka’s major opposition United National Party (UNP) Ranil Wickremasinghe has taken over the party electoral organizer position for Central Colombo.

Former Central Colombo UNP organizer Mohammed Maharoof recently joined the government and he is now contesting to the Colombo Municipal Council under ruling party ticket.

Wickremasinghe has appointed two sub organizers for Central Colombo. One part of the electorate is organized by Mujiber Rahuman while the other part is organized by Faroos Hajjiyar, both are members of the Western Provincial Council.

Central Colombo electorate is considered as the back bone of UNP power in Colombo.
