Sri Lanka President to declare open world’s largest Buddhist information resource center

May 15, Colombo: Sri Lanka President Mahinda Rajapaksa will open the world’s largest Buddhist information resource center this evening in Colombo city.

With the opening of the 16-story Sri Sambuddhathva Jayanthi Mandira today, the President will also rename the Havelock Road, along which the Center is located as the Sri Sambuddhathva Jayanthi Road.

The International Buddhist Information Center was built by the Buddhist Cultural Center of Nedimala, Dehiwala in a land provided by state under the benevolence of the President.

The Center c consists of an auditorium to seat 600 persons, libraries, language laboratories, training centers, counseling centers, book shops, and other facilities.
