Sri Lanka ruling party warns controversial Minister and his opponents to refrain from criticizing each other

Jan 11, Colombo: Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP),the main constituent party of ruling Alliance, has informed the Minister of Labor Relations and Kelaniya electoral organizer Mervyn Silva and the group of councilors of Kelaniya Pradeshiya Sabha led by Chairman Prasanna Ranaweera not to criticize each other.

The clash was hot news for the media during the past few days as both parties openly accused each other of wrongdoings through media.

SLFP hierarchy has informed in writing to the Minister of Labor Relations to refrain from taking the crisis to the media.

SLFP General Secretary Maithripala Sirisena, Treasurer Dullas Alahapperuma and the United People’s Freedom Alliance General Secretary Susil Premajayantha held a meeting with the group of councilors of the Kelaniya Pradeshiya Sabha and asked them to refrain from criticizing the Minister through media.

Instead, they were asked to submit the charges against the Minister so that a disciplinary probe could be conducted.
