Sri Lanka to establish diplomatic relations with Rwanda, South Sudan

Oct 07, Colombo: Sri Lanka will soon take measures to establish diplomatic relations with two more African countries.

Sri Lanka cabinet yesterday approved a proposal forwarded by the Minister of External Affairs Prof. G.L. Peiris to establish diplomatic relations with the Republic of Rwanda and the newly established nation of South Sudan.

Sri Lanka currently enjoys cordial diplomatic relations with 32 of the 54 African nations, all of which are members of the 118-member Non-Aligned movement (NAM).
