Oct 23, Colombo: Sri Lanka Ministry of Health will begin a programme next month to grade the food outlets in the country in an attempt to improve the standards of the food sales outlets of the country.
Director of Environment and Professional Health of the Ministry of Health Ananda Jayalal told local media that the food outlets needed to improve their standards before the categorization would begin.
He said that food outlets from the very small scale places to mass scale outlets will be graded under the programme.
Lower graded food outlets are assisted to improve their grades. They are compulsory to improve the standards, the official says.
