Sri Lankan President visits Colombo neighborhoods

Oct 05, Colombo: Sri Lanka President Mahinda Rajapaksa today, the last day of campaigning for the local government elections, visited several neighborhoods of Colombo to meet the people of the capital city.

He visited Apple Watta in Maligawatta, Kimbula Ela in Modera, and Somaliya Watta in Madampitiya this evening and had discussions with the people.


The President also inspected the construction of a housing complex being built in Mayura Place of Wellawatta.


Deputy Ministers Lakshman Yapa Abeywardena and Faizer Mustapha, parliamentarians Namal Rajapaksa and Duminda Silva, and the ruling alliance mayoral candidate for Colombo Municipal Council Milinda Moragoda also accompanied the President in these visits.
