Sri Lankan Prime Minister says still more to be done after end of the war

May 30, Colombo: Sri Lankan Prime Minister D.M. Jayaratne says that there is still much to be done even after the end of the war.

Jayaratne has made this statement during a meeting with 17 new ambassadors and high commissioners who are to take up posts in Sri Lankan missions overseas.

The Prime Minister has said the main task before the new mission heads was to dispel the wrong impressions the international community has of Sri Lanka.

He has said that many with vested interests were trying to spread a wrong impression of the country among the international community.

Jayaratne has noted that it was therefore the responsibility of the new appointees to show the true picture of the country.

The Prime Minister has further noted that the officials also had the responsibility of drawing foreign investors to the country.
