Sri Lanka’s ruling coalition to meet tomorrow to discuss the upcoming elections

June 04, Colombo: Sri Lanka’s ruling United People’s Freedom Alliance (UPFA) has summoned a meeting of all coalition parties next week to discuss the organizational work for the elections of 67 local government bodies.

The elections of 67 local government bodies that were postponed have been scheduled to be held on July 23.

The UPFA won the majority of the elections of the local government bodies that were held early this year.

Leaders of all the UPFA coalition parties and the organizations of the coalition parties of the local government bodies for which the elections are held have been summoned for the meeting.

The meeting will be chaired by the secretary of the UPFA Susil Prema Jayantha and the secretary of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party Maithripala Sirisena, UPFA sources said.
