Three activists arrested in Colombo for pasting posters with provocative slogans

June 10, Colombo: A group of left-oriented activists pasting posters in the Sri Lankan capital last night were arrested by the Borella Police, sources said.

The activists were the organizers of a seminar and open dialogue on current issues. The seminar is to be held on June 13 at 3:00 p.m. at Public Library auditorium.

The organizers said the police had told that the slogans in the posters were provocative. Some of the slogans said ‘Start Struggle’ and ”March to Public Library along the Burning Earth.”

Police have seized a bundle of posters as well.

A young woman is also in the group of three that were arrested, the organizers say.
