UNP deputy leader says appointment of party national organizer illegal

May 04, Colombo: The deputy leader of Sri Lanka’s main opposition United National Party (UNP) Sajith Premadasa says that the appointment of the party’s national organizer was illegal.

UNP Colombo District parliamentarian Ravi Karunanayaka was appointed yesterday as the national organizer of the crisis-ridden party.

Premadasa said that he did not object to the individual who was appointed to the post, but the manner in which the appointment was made.
