Apr 28, Colombo: The 28th conference of Sri Lanka’s Provincial Council Chief Ministers will be held today and tomorrow in the Kukule Ganga Army holiday Resort in Baduraliya in the Kalutara district.
The conference is presided by the Western Province Chief Minister Prasanna Ranatunga.
A special discussion between the Minister of Economic Development Basil Rajapaksa and the Chief Ministers over the provincial development programmes will be held today after the launch of the conference.
Another discussion is scheduled for tomorrow with the Presidential Secretary Lalith Weerathunge.
Problems that exist with regard to the 13th Amendment to the Constitution, strengthening Provincial Councils and the problems people of the Eastern Province are having will be some of the topics to be discussed.
The Secretary of the Ministry of Finance and the secretaries of the other cabinet ministries are also to participate in the round of talks scheduled for tomorrow.
