Education system should enhance the attitude of children, Sri Lankan President says

Apr 30, Colombo:  President Mahinda Rajapaksa says the country’s education system should be prepared to enhance the attitude of children while delivering knowledge and skills.

President Rajapaksa said the elder generation is entrusted with the responsibility of creating a younger generation that will love the country at any cost. He urged the parents to constantly help the youngsters to improve their skills and abilities.

The President made these remarks Saturday at a ceremony held at the Temple Trees to offer scholarships to about 400 students of ETF member families who passed the year five scholarship examination with merits.

Ministers Sarath Amunugama, Bandula Gunawardena, Gamini Lokuge, Deputy Minsiter Geethanjana Gunawardena, Secretary to the President Lalith Weerathunge, Education Ministry Secretary H. M. Gunasekera and the president of the ETF K.M.A. Godawatta also participated in the event.
