Apr 07, Colombo: The Sri Lankan Cabinet of Ministers Wednesday has approved the signing of a new air services agreement with the United Kingdom.
Cabinet Spokesperson and Minister Anura Priyadharshana Yapa told the media at the Cabinet press briefing that the Cabinet had granted approval to the memorandum presented by Civil Aviation Minister Priyankara Jayaratne.
Yapa said the new agreement once signed would enable an increase in the present frequency of flights from 14 to 21 every week.
The flight increase is to commence from the 2011/2012 winter season.
According to the Minister, the new air services agreement between the two countries is to be signed shortly.
