New ferry service in Sri Lanka’s Kalu River

Dec 05, Kalutara: A new ferry service has been launched by a private operator along the Kalu Ganga (river) of Sri Lanka.

The ferry service is from Bulathsinhala to Kalutara along an old catamaran route used to transport timber. The ferry can transport fifty passengers.

The operator of the ferry service I.S.W. Karunathilake says that only one ferry will operate under the first phase but more vessels will be added in the near future.

The river route passes picturesque scenery and expects to be popular among the local and foreign tourists
