New Zealand to bat in the first semi-final against Sri Lanka

Mar 29, Colombo: New Zealand won the toss and decided to bat in the first semi-final of the 2011 World Cup at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo today.

Sri Lanka’s ace spinner Muttiah Muralitharan is reportedly fit to play in today’s semi-final. Sri Lanka retained the same team played against England in the quarter-final.

For the Black Caps seamer Andy McKay has come in for Luke Woodcock. Earlier New Zealand captain Daniel Vettori has expressed concern over the pitch which was the same pitch that was used for the England game.
