Pakistan to hold 10th Session of Joint Economic Commissionwith Sri Lanka

Apr 08, Islamabad: Pakistan Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Hina Rabbani Khar has met Sri Lanka’s High Commissioner Air Chief Marshall Jayalath Weerakkody on Friday and held discussions on matters of bilateral interest.

A Pakistan Foreign Office press release said today the Minister of State and the High Commissioner discussed matters of mutual interest to both counties and agreed on the holding of Foreign Secretaries level Consultations and 10th Session of Joint Economic Commission.

They have agreed that Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari’s recent visit to Sri Lanka has laid the solid basis for further strengthening bilateral relations, especially through mutually beneficial economic relations.

The Minister of State expressed her satisfaction at the level of cooperation between the two countries.

Pakistan greatly values its relations with Sri Lanka which are based on mutual trust and shared interests for maintaining regional peace, security, and stability, the statement said.
