Aug 05, Colombo: The Immigrant Visa section of the United States Embassy in Colombo will be holding a series of presentations on Diversity Visa lottery in several cities.
The first presentation of the series will be held today at 4:30 pm at the Co-operative Society Hall, in Anuradhapura.
The officers from the American Embassy will explain the process of the program with translations and participants will get free handouts with the important points of the program, the Embassy said in a statement.
Diversity Visa Program allows people born in certain countries to migrate to the United States legally and many winners from Sri Lanka migrate to the United States every year, the Embassy says.
The next presentations will be held tomorrow (06) in Kilinochchi and Jaffna. The first of the presentations will be in Kilinochchi at 9:30 am at the National Youth Service Council Hall and the next will be at 4:30 pm in the Veerasingam Hall in Jaffna.
The Embassy says it plans to repeat these sessions in other cities like Colombo, Trincomalee, Batticaloa, Polonnaruwa, Galle, Matara, Hambanthota, Embilipitiya and also in Maldives.
