Sri Lanka Jetwing Group in Rs. 700 million hotel project in Jaffna

Feb 05, Jaffna: Sri Lanka’s Jetwing Group has started a Rs. 700 million project to build star class hotel in the Northern city of Jaffna.

Prime Minister D.M Jayaratne and the Minister of Economic Development Basil Rajapaksa have laid the foundation Stone for Jetwing Yarl hotel in Jaffna on Friday, government media unit reported.

The project, a joint venture between Mercantile Merchant Bank Ltd, and the Jetwing Group, will build a 14-storied hotel with 76 rooms, a roof top swimming pool, and Presidential Suite on a 46-perch land area on the Old Clock Tower Road, in Jaffna.

The construction is estimated to be completed in 18 months.

This project is expected to create employment for youth and boost income for self-employed businesses and farmers in the area.
