Sri Lanka main opposition to send a representative to attend tomorrow’s Victory Day celebrations

May 26, Colombo: Sri Lanka main opposition United National Party (UNP) is to send a representative to participate in the Victory Day celebrations tomorrow.

Chief Opposition Whip John Amaratunga will represent the party at the celebrations to be held at Galle Face Green.

The UNP decided to boycott the celebrations last year claiming that Victory Day could not be celebrated without the participation of former Army Commander Sarath Fonseka.

Nevertheless, several UNP parliamentarians including Sajith Premadasa attended last year’s celebrations.
