Sri Lanka to host international tea meeting

Sri Lanka will host a meeting of key officials from major tea producing and consuming nations next week.

A statement from the Sri Lanka Tea Board said the 20th Session of Food and Agriculture Organisation’s Inter-Governmental Group on Tea will meet in Colombo from Monday to Wednesday.

Delegates from over 25 countries are expected to participate in this year’s sessions.

India , China , Kenya , Indonesia , Bangladesh , Vietnam , Africa and Argentina will be represented as tea producing countries while USA , Canada , UK , Pakistan , Russia and UAE will be represented as tea consuming or importing countries.
