May 25, Colombo: External Affairs Minister of Sri Lanka Prof G.L. Peiris is to meet with leaders of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) this week on the sidelines of the NAM ministerial conference.
The ministerial conference commenced today in Bali, Indonesia.
Peiris is among the foreign ministers from 118 member states participating in the conference.
According to External Affairs Ministry sources, Minister Peiris would meet with NAM officials separately to discuss about the UN Report and Sri Lanka’s stance on the matter.
Peiris’ participation in the NAM conference takes place after his visits to India and China.
Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono opening the conference today has suggested the need to “overhaul the UN Security Council, so that it reflects the reality of the world today.”
