Apr 02, Colombo: Sri Lanka’s United Nations office in capital Colombo had held a rehearsal for its employees to face an emergency situation, a Sinhala language daily Divaina newspaper quoting reliable sources reported in its Sunday edition.
The newspaper said that the emergency alert was a precursor for the situation that might arise following the release of the report of the panel of experts appointed to advise the UN Secretary-General on Sri Lanka.
The newspaper also said that the rehearsal included the ways to face agitations, hostage taking and safeguarding documents during a crisis.
All employees of the UN Colombo office participated in the rehearsal, the newspaper reported.
